Playlist Curation for Accessory Display by Vitra
On the occasion of Maison&Objet's home decor fair held in Paris between September 7 and 11, interior design company Vitra reached out to HearDis! to create a tailor-made music playlist for the on-site presentation of the very first release of Eames Radio in its exhibiting space.

Blending 40s Design with State-of-the-Art Technology
Back in the mid-40s, American designers Charles and Ray Eames pioneered a compact radio model - Eames Radio - which, precisely because of such progressive design, was never produced at that time.
In line with the company's innovative spirit and regard for ingenious concepts, Vitra decided to team up with Eames Office to revamp the original Eames Radio's design and adapt it to current lifestyle trends through state-of-the-art technology. With the desire to showcase the radio while in Paris, Vitra invited HearDis! to create a unique playlist to highlight the radio’s elegance and sophistication.

Music Interpretation for a Timeless Experience
The process of conceiving a playlist tailor-made for Vitra's Eames Radio had to consider different aspects: to be representative of the original mid-century design, to highlight the revamped Vitra design as well as to respect the business context and purpose proper of a trade show.
Our initial idea was to gather original swing tunes to recreate the true retro feel emblematic of the era. The approach however led to the realization that the audio quality of such compositions did not align with the sound standards proper of modern technologies, such as those integrated in Eames Radio.
To answer such need, we eventually selected contemporary songs that reconciled that charm and energy of swing music of the era and those intricate electronic elements proper of a more present-time appeal. The playlist mix was then manually curated to seamlessly accompany and ease Vitra’s exhibitors and visitors with the optimal music atmosphere for each part of the day.
The playlist can be found on Spotify under "Vitra Swing".
